In addition to participating in global clinical trial for a treatment and testing a potential vaccine, UAB is also caring for the highest number of COVID-19 patients of any hospital in the state. As of March 31, the health system reported 52 in-house, confirmed COVID-19 patients, down from a high of 62 on March 26.
