The UA System Office’s operating philosophy is to add value and facilitate the ability of our campuses to excel. Led by the Chancellor, who serves as the primary reporting channel for the presidents of each institution, The UA System Office facilitates the work of our Board of Trustees, ensures the fiscal integrity of our three campuses, directs legal affairs and audit functions, operates a state-of-the-art information technology infrastructure, initiates Systemwide activities and outreach, and presents a unified public affairs program. The System Office also approves and reviews academic programs, supports growth and development of the UAB Health System, as well as economic growth initiatives throughout the state.

Sid J.Trant is Interim Chancellor of ٺƵ. In that capacity, he is chief executive officer of Alabama’s largest higher education enterprise, which is comprised of three doctoral research universities and the UAB Health System. Total student enrollment at The University of Alabama, The University of Alabama at Birmingham, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville exceeds 70,000 students, with more than 67,000 full- and part-time faculty and staff. The annual economic impact of the UA System surpasses $18 billion annually, and the System’s hospitals and clinics provide over 2 million patient visits each year, caring for people in every county of Alabama.”
