Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that provides: 

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.â€

Title IX generally prohibits discrimination based on sex in any education program or activity that receives federal financial assistance. Sex discrimination includes, but is not limited to, , , , , and . A fuller list of Title IX issues OCR addresses appears . Title IX also prohibits retaliation for filing an OCR complaint or for advocating for a right protected by Title IX and discrimination in employment which is based on sex. Title IX in the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ

Title IX compliance is a priority of ºÙºÙÊÓƵ. UAS Office of Risk and Compliance (ORC) organizes training events and meetings of System officials and coordinates our campus efforts for complying with the requirements of Title IX.  

Each of our campuses has a fully staffed Title IX office and effective prevention, education, and response programs. Likewise, ORC staff provide these resources for the UA System Office. For specific information about each campus program, see the contact information below:
